”Fantastic diving, amazing crew, great atmosphere. This liveaboard is excellent value for money. It goes without saying that the diving in Komodo is world-class (every dive was mind-blowing), but what made this a very special trip was the kindness and approachability of the dive and boat crew. The dive crew was incredibly knowledgable about the dive sites, which paid off because some were quite technical and had strong currents which, in the wrong hands, could have made for poor or difficult dives. The accommodation is okay – you get what you pay for at this price point, so it’s fairly no-frills – but it adds to the atmosphere of a Robinson Crusoe/pirate ship vibe. The food was plentiful and on the whole great, with a good mix of Western and Indonesian. I would highly recommend Scuba Republic in general and this boat in particular if you want a fun, friendly time on the boat on the an incredible time under the water.” Recommended for: Mind-blowing dives, very approachable crew and dive team, top quality equipment and safety protocols.
”It was fantastic. I was a bit nervous because I am 70 years old, and I was the oldest diver on the boat. Moreover, I was alone. (No contemporary dive buddies left in my life!) It was no problem. Everyone was kind and interested in having a great diving adventure. And we did. The reefs are fabulous, and the boat kept taking us to better and better locations. I did not do the last two night dives, so I racked up 18 dives in six days. I made a few friends, and dived my heart out. The cabin was a little cramped, but no big deal. My cabin-mate was a great guy, and a very advanced underwater photographer. No doubt about it: some things are changing for me as a diver at my age, but I was soon as comfortable as ever under the sea.. I count it as the trip of a lifetime. What is that worth? ”Great vessel & crew to support an incredible experience. The Ambai was perfect for 11 nights around Raja Ampat. Comfortable boat, spacious enough with great area for lounging in the sun. Decent healthy food, awesome friendly crew. Honestly I’m sure you could pay way more for some extra little luxuries but I found the Ambai delivered on expectations and I didn’t want for anything, except maybe to upgrade the choice of whisky on offer (recommend JW Black Label or something.) ”Amazing Liveaboard experience in Raja. I did the 10 day tour through the South of Raja Ampat, and had an amazing time! The crew is so welcoming and friendly, the south seems to be the less traveled route due to the distance covered, and we were usually the only divers at the site, and our groups were small with 3 divers to a dive guide. On top of the diving, I loved the food, and they were able to easily accommodate the vegan members onboard with some very delicious meals! I will definitely book with them again if Im lucky enough to visit paradise twice and highly recommend them.” Recommended for: The dives, the crew, and the food were amazing!

The boat is large enough that it never seems crowded for the 40 guests and crew on board. Everything about the cruise is very well organized.
