A wetsuit will not protect you from the barb of a stingray, as it will go straight through the neoprene of the wetsuit and into your skin. But stingrays very rarely attack people unless they are provoked or threatened, so wetsuit or no wetsuit, you are unlikely to be attacked by a stingray.

But be careful with any exposed skin around your face, or with your arms and legs when wearing a shorty as these areas may still get stung.
You do need a wetsuit to dive in the Red Sea, especially when diving in deeper waters and if you dive from a Red Sea liveaboard. You may experience cooler thermoclines in the Red Sea and depending on the time of year you dive and the depth, you will probably need a 1-5mm wetsuit.

Many of the great white sharks that are coming to Long Island are coming from the birthing site that was discovered in 2016 by Ocearch off Montauk Long Island. These young great white sharks are thought to remain in the area for at least 20 years until they reach maturity.

There have been 20 known great white shark attacks in the Mediterranean Sea region, 11 of which were in Italy, four in Greece, two in Malta, two in France and one in Spain. Of these 20 great white shark attacks in the Mediterranean, 12 have been fatal and all shark attacks were unprovoked attacks.
