I have four "new" Luxer AL80 tanks, which have been used for less than 20 dives each, and each is filled with EAN36. I'm about to sell them off, they are 3000# full with EAN36, BUT they were filled in 04/2008. Does EAN go stale in AL80 tanks, or should I empty them out prior to sale?

I wouldn't say you need to empty the cylinders myself. The fact that they are aluminium tanks would mean there's no rust and the risk to deplete the oxygen content. But a quick test would soon prove this.
On the basis that we always top tanks up each time and never empty them fully when they're in use, makes me think it will not go stale.
Having said that honesty is always the best policy, so make sure you explain the situation to the divers who buy them. If they end up using them with the enriched air nitrox, they should test the EAN content before they dive in any event.
Also, I would suggest the tanks should be tested in any case, either you can do that before you sell them or the buyers may need to do this before they are filled and used. Of course this depends on when you last had them tested.
