Scuba tanks are made out of two types of material. This is either aluminum, or actually aluminum alloy or steel. Each type has different properties, where for example steel cylinders are tougher than aluminium, making them resistant to damage. Whereas aluminum tanks are much lighter and less expensive than steel tanks.
